Are you looking to trek in the gorgeous Annapurna region away from all the crowds and off the beaten track?

If the answer is yes!! – Then You-in’s amazing Mardi Himal 10 Day Trek is the one for you!

Opened officially in 2012, and located east of the Annapurna Base Camp, this relatively new trekking journey reaches a max elevation of 4,500m and is one of the most beautiful off-the-beaten-path adventures available in Nepal today.

Our journey begins in Pokhara, which is widely known as the ‘Lake City’ that offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail), and the Annapurna ranges.

Throughout our journey, we will encounter beautiful ethnic villages, terraced farmlands, lush forests, and amazing mountain vistas before reaching the Low and high Camps of the Mardi Himal.

September to December and Spring (March to May) are the best (and most popular) seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views….and we mean OUTSTANDING!

If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec, Jan and Feb) could also be an option. However, the temperature during winter could be harsh, while during Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug) there will be rain.

Our Mardi Himal trek has a short, 10-day itinerary compared to most walks in this region leading up to the camps. The particular route is designed for trekkers who want to see the highlights of the beautiful Annapurna region and for people who do not want large crowds, it is the best option for you!

You will trek through villages like Rai and Limbu where you can see an insight into the customs and life of the ethnic people who live in these mountains, plus villages like Phedi and Pothana, from where the views of the Annapurna Mountains ranges are spectacular!

Thanks to the well-groomed itinerary of the Mardi Himal Base Camp trekking package, it is a very popular choice among diverse outdoor enthusiasts, from solo female travellers to hikers travelling in small and large groups in Nepal.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we will greet you at the airport and accompany you to the Hotel. We join you in the evening with a complimentary traditional Nepalese cultural dinner with your tour leader. - Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara, drive to Phedi and trek to Pothana, 4-5 hour trek (1,800m)

Early morning flight to Pokhara with your guide and meet your staff and then drive to Phedi. The route from Phedi is a good choice as very few trekkers start their trek from here. The natural environment beauty becomes apparent as the bustling city is left behind and the environment is replaced with lush woods and thick natural groves. The trek is at first slow-moving upwards, then moves up a bit steeper where we arrive after 1 hour to Dhampus (1,960m), then after enjoying an early lunch we move slightly uphill to Pothana (1950m) and to the ACAP / TIMS checkpoint where security will check passes, we then continue up again to Pitam Deurali (2100m). Deurali is a small village from where we will see great views of Annapurna South, Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail).   - Overnight stay in lodge

Day 4: Trek to Forest Camp, 5-6 hours (2,550m)

As we leave, there is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail turns away from the main sanctuary trek route of Annapurna and continues through dense jungle on a quiet trail. There is a section just over halfway where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height again, and then continues back onto the ridge and into Forest Camp(2,600m) - also known as Kokar as the locals call it, after about 4-hour trekking. After Lunch in Forest Camp, you will trek to Rest Camp (2,605m) - Overnight stay in Lodge

Day 5: Forest Camp to High Camp, 5-6 hours (3,900m)

The trail leaves Rest Camp again in the jungle, after about one hour of trekking we leave the jungle and onto the open ridge where we are greeted with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead, and Annapurna South to your left. The trail continues mainly on the grass along the ridge and you eventually arrive at High Camp where you spend the night. (3550m). The lodges at High Camp are generally larger than the lodges at Forest Camp. The view of the Annapurna South from the camp is quite spectacular, along with the panorama of the Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountains. - Overnight at Lodge.

Day 6: High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp, 8-9 hours (4,500m)

Today is going to be a fascinating one, the plan is to wake up early enough to view the sunrise, then after an early breakfast, we walk up the ridge towards Mardi Himal Base Camp. There is a well-established trail through the grass that also occasionally contains a couple of steeper sections, before reaching to the upper viewpoint at the halfway stage. The views from the viewpoint are simply jaw-dropping. Stunning views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Baraha Sikhar, Machapuchare, Tent peak, and many other peaks will surely please you. After spending some precious time there we will continue to Base Camp before heading back down to High Camp. Today will be a long day but the views and photographic opportunities along the way will surely make the trek worthwhile.    - Overnight at Lodge

Day 7: High Camp to Sidhing Village, 5-6 hours (1,750m)

Today we start the return leg and will take a different route down completing a circuit. From the Camp, there is a trail that goes down to Sidhing village, and we will walk this path instead of going back to Mardi Himal and Kokar. Sidhing is a traditional Nepalese village and is situated away from the busier tourist treks so trekkers will enjoy a quieter stay. - Overnight at Lodge

Day 8: Sidhing to Lwang Village, 2-3 hours (1,550m)

After breakfast, we continue descending to Lwang village, where we have the opportunity to explore around the Gurung community.   Overnight at Lodge

Day 9: Lwang to Pokhara and Kathmandu

Today we will drive back to Pokhara, and from Pokhara, we will catch a domestic flight and return to Kathmandu hotel by airport transfer. When you reach Kathmandu, you can spend your time shopping around Thamel. Thamel has many shops that offer classic crafts and artwork. You can buy a gift for yourself and your loved ones. You can also further explore Kathmandu city. In the evening, we will talk about the wonderful journey we accomplished. We will also enjoy a farewell dinner together. Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 10: Transfer to airport for final departure

Today we enjoy a delicate breakfast in the hotel. This will probably be your last meal in Nepal. As per your flight schedule, you can check out your room.
