Annapurna Circuit Trekking route is a classic trek trail in the heart of the Annapurna region. Among different legendary trekking paths of Nepal, Annapurna Circuit has grown to be the most prodigious one. This is a long duration trek that takes you closer to the Annapurna Himal. The trek also offers cultural insight, bio-diversity, and beautiful mountain landscape.
During Annapurna Circuit trek, you can witness the massif Himalayan ranges such as Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Mardi, Annapurna II, Annapurna South and so on. Besides the mountain view, the drastically changing landscape also adds to the fun. You can enjoy the beautiful sub-tropical vegetation before you reach above the forest area. Then, you can witness the prodigious mountain landscape.
The fir and rhododendron forests of the Annapurna sanctuary are worth a visit. Also, there are different rear animals in the region. Himalayan Thar, Deer, monkey, yaks, etc can be seen. Besides the beauty of nature, the place is also decorated culturally. People of Gurung, Magar, and Rai community settle in the high hills and mountains. They have a unique culture and lifestyle. Here, you can learn about the century-old culture and tradition of Nepalese people.
The 15 days Annapurna Circuit trek demands strong physical fitness. It is achievable by the person with any skill levels, including beginners. During the trek, one needs to walk along the steep paths for hours. You need to cross high passes and lowlands. The highest point of the trek is Thorong La Pass(5,416m). This is similar to a mountain climb. And the high altitude can make it even worse. But the pleasure of the trek is worth the pain.
Annapurna Circuit trail is equally beautiful and prodigious throughout the year. But the clam and clear weather of Autumn (September to November) makes the trek easy. Spring (March to May) is also a peak season. During Spring, the trail is decorated by the beautiful blooms of Rhododendron. Monsoon can be a tough season due to the slippery trail. But it’s the best time to explore the vegetation and agriculture of Nepal. Winter trek is difficult due to heavy snowfall.
The 15 day Annapurna circuit trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar. Further drive in a Jeep takes us to the place called Chamje. Then we trek to the village of Manang. After some rest in this place, we further walk towards Muktinath. Muktinath is a famous religious destination in Nepal. Our trek comes to the end in Jomson. Then, we drive to Pokhara and then back to Kathmandu.
As you land the TIA, our representative will receive you. After welcoming you at the airport, you shall be transferred to the hotel. About half an hour of the ride in a private vehicle will provide you an insight into Kathmandu valley. For the rest of the day, you can stroll around the market of Thamel. You can buy or rent the trekking gear and make all the necessary arrangements. In the evening, we will brief you about the trekking. We will also enjoy our welcome dinner together. Early in the morning, we leave Kathmandu as we head towards Besisahar. The drive along the banks of the Trishuli River is prodigious. On a clear day, the views of Himalayan vistas will accompany us throughout the journey. About 6-7 hours of the drive takes us to headquarter of Lamjung District. After some time in Besisahar, we drive to Chamje in a jeep. The views of stunning villages, farms and flowing rivers will accompany us through the off-road drive. We also get the witness the gorgeous mountain ranges as we drive closer to Chamje. Overnight in Chamje.
Today, we will begin our trek after breakfast. As we leave Chamche, we cross a bridge and then enter Manang at Tal. On the path, we can witness the waterfalls that form a river along the sandy beaches. As we follow the path, we reach the village of Kodo. Kodo is the largest and very popular village in Manang valley. We then cross a suspension bridge above a river. Another brief climb finally takes us to the place called Dharapani. After breakfast, we take the trail between the forests of fir, oak, maple and pine trees. Initially, the path is downhill. But then we need to assent through the rough steep. The Further trek takes us to a small river. After crossing the river, we reach a place called Chame. Chame is known as Manang’s headquarter. From Chame, you can enjoy the outstanding views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV (7,525m), and Lamjung Himal. As you reach Chame you will stop by a hot spring and take some moments to relax our shanks. Today, you walk through a steep valley of Pisang. As you leave Pisang, we can witness the view of Paungda Danda. As you climb to the top, you can witness the clear views of Annapurna and Pisang Peak in the northeast. You will walk along the sub-tropical forest covered with thick vegetation. If you are lucky, you can also spot some wild animals. The walk can be hard but it is also equally prodigious. Pisang is a small yet beautiful settlement in the Annapurna region. Overnight in Pisang
This is a very important day of our trek as we trek to the village of Manang. Today, we first trek to the upper Pisang via Geru. The initial climb is quite tough. As you reach upper Pisang, the views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Pisang Peak, and Tilicho are stunning. After some ascend, you can feel the air flip getting colder, drier and harsher. In the path, you will come along a large monastery called Barge monastery. This is your chance to explore Buddhist culture. Overnight in Manang.
You are already trekking in the altitude of (3540 m). At this point, the level of oxygen drops drastically. So it’s important that you have a rest day in order to acclimatize your body. Instead of staying lazy, you can explore different regions of Manang. Early in the morning, you can hike to Gangapurna Lake. You can also visit Chonkor’s viewpoint for the stunning views of mountains like Tilicho, Annapurna III, Pisang, and Chulu Peaks. In Manang Village, you can visit the house of local people and Monasteries. There is also a Himalayan Rescue Association located in Vraga village. Here, you will be briefed about the acute altitude sickness. Overnight in Manang.
After a beautiful stay in the Manang, we will walk towards Yak Kharkha. On our way out of village of Manang we shall climb steadily to Yak Kharka. The trail is mostly steep as we climb multiple hills. On the path, we will also come across multiple small settlements. You can stop in one of such settlements for the lunch. After some hours of climb, we cross a seasonal bridge suited right above the Thorang Khola valley. After that, we trek to Yak Kharka. The path to Yak Kharka is comparatively easier. This is only about five to six hours of walk in the slightly steep path. Overnight in Yak Karka
Today is important and also the toughest day of our climb. As we leave Yak Kharka, we climb along mountain trails that run along the headwaters of the River. Crossing Marsyangdi at one point in an old wooden bridge, we continue our trek. Thorong Phedi is suited at 4,450m- the highest point for the trek. You follow a narrow path that takes us to Thorong Phedi. Obviously, the climb is going to be tough. You need to be careful and walk slowly. But when you reach the top, the views of Himalayan vistas above your head and the valley below your feet will rejoice your heart. Overnight in Thorong Phedi
This is another long day of the journey. We leave Thorong Phedi very early in the morning. As soon as we leave the tea house, the trails become steep. About two hours of the steep climb takes us to the place called High Camp (4,800m). Here the path gets slightly easier. The further walk takes you to the pass decorated with colorful prayer flags. You can witness the excellent views of the Himalayas along the journey. After some rest, we begin our walk towards the town of Muktinath. This is a famous destination for the Buddhists and the Hindu pilgrims in Nepal. In the Nepalese language, Muktinath means God of Salvation. This is a beautiful place to stop for the night. Early in the morning, we explore the temple of Muktinath. You can take a pony ride to the Muktinath temple. Besides exploring the temple, you can take a bath in 108 stone taps. After breakfast, we descend into Kali Gandaki valley. As we walk down, we experience the drastic change of landscape into a stark rocky desolate beauty. After some time, we pass through the green and beautiful forests of Kagbeni. The place stands as a stark contrast in the nearby moonscape. As we climb outside Kagbeni, we walk along the bank of Kali Gandaki River. Thankfully the terrain is quite flat and easy to walk. After some hours of trek, we arrive in the town of Jomsom. Jomsom is the Mustang’s headquarters. This is also the end of our trek. Overnight in Jomsom
After breakfast in a lodge over Jomsom, we take a jeep to Tatopani. In the Nepalese language, Tatopani means hot spring. About three hours of drive from Jomsom takes you to the place. Once we arrive in Tatopani, you dip our body in the hot spring. Once you dive in the natural hot spring, you get rid of all the pain from the hectic journey. Besides the hot spring, you can also enjoy exploring the beautiful Kali Gandaki River. Overnight in Tatopani
After a relaxing day in Tatopani, we shall take a scenic drive to Pokhara. We drive through the deepest canyon of the earth that lies between Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri along with several other snow-capped peaks. The off-road drive is equally adventurous. Once you reach Pokhara, you can explore the valley. Pokhara is the most beautiful city in Nepal and is a famous tourist destination. You can enjoy boating in Phewa Lake or cycling around the place. In the evening, you can stroll around Lakeside and enjoy the nightlife of Pohara. Overnight in Pokhara
After breakfast in the morning, we commence our drive through the beautiful countryside before we reach Kathmandu. The drive of about eight hours in a tourist bus is fun. We drive along the bank of Trishuli River as the views of mountain vistas accompany us. Once we reach Kathmandu, we can spend our time around Thamel. You can stop to buy some classic gifts for yourself and your loved ones. In the evening, we will have our farewell dinner. We will talk about the journey and celebrate our success. Today is your last morning in Kathmandu. Depending on your flight schedule, our representatives will transfer you to the airport. You will reach the airport two hours before your flight time. Waving goodbye to this beautiful country of Himalayas, you can head to your destination.
